Balancing Cholesterol Levels
Developing research regarding good health has caused an increasing number of people to become more conscious about their decisions regarding diet and exercise. For this reason, it is no surprise then while people are turning towards natural herbal supplements and teas. Adding these to a daily diet has become a far more preferable choice than using daily vitamins and pills. Many herbal teas, such as alfalfa tea, are filled with a multitude of nutrients and are far easier to incorporate into a daily regimen.
Importance of Healthy Cholesterol Levels
Cholesterol is split into two groups. HDLs, which are high density lipoproteins that are known as “good cholesterol”, and LDLs, low density lipoproteins known as “good cholesterol”. These are the two types of cholesterol in your body that will account for your overall cholesterol levels. It is very important to ensure that you keep a healthy cholesterol balance in your body. High amounts of LDLs in the body can lead to build up of lipids on the artery walls which can lead to blockages and even more serious issues like strokes and heart related health problems. Low levels of HDLs, can also lead to problems since HDLs may be partly responsible for protecting the body against heart attacks and heart disease. This is because it has shown the effect of being able to carry away cholesterol from the arteries and over to the liver where it can then pass easily through the body.
